Imagining

I haven't posted anything in ages so I wrote something quickly. It's really short but I think it's good this way.

She was just sitting there.
She looked so beautiful; her long, brunette hair was tucked behind her ears, rolling down her back in a soft, dark mess. She had her hands tucked gently under her small chin and her brows knit together as she concentrated hard on the large book laid open on the table in front of her. It was hard to tell whether she was studying or reading a really good book.
A waiter came over to her table and placed a new steaming hot cup of tea down next to the cup that had gone cold. She looked up and smiled gratefully, it was angelic; the way her face lit up as if she had just been given the world. She took the cup in her hands and let her book fall shut and her hair slip from behind her ears. She looked up and out the window onto the crazy city with the loud dangerous streets and whirling rush of people. Her eyes caught in the sunlight, they were emeralds, a clear, sparkling, green against her delicate ivory skin.
She blushed when she saw me looking at her but I couldn't stop staring. I smiled at her, she returned the favour by tucking her hair behind her eyes shyly and smiling down at her hands. This gorgeous girl.
I opened my notebook and wrote down “I think you’re beautiful, good luck with your book.” then teared this piece of paper and stuck it under my empty cup. I got up and swung my bag over my shoulder then headed for the door, I took one last glance and saw her looking back, curiously.

Then I walked out that ordinary coffee shop and left her, I didn't even know her name.

Another beginning that I won't finish...

Hey there, I know that it's been a while. I've been writing a lot, however I don't think its particularly blog ready, yet...
However, here is something I wrote a little while ago, enjoy... (Sorry if there's any grammatical or spelling errors)

The Lightbulb

I was sitting in class when realisation had hit me.
It was last lesson, biology, so naturally I had zoned out the second we’d all sat down and the only thing I was sure about was that it had something to do with surface area and the rate of reaction which sounded like a string of words I’d rather use to hang myself with than listen to a single sentence about and a load of other crap that would help me pass my exams. Oh well. I never wanted to be a scientist anyway.
Anyway, I had been thinking about Seb. Sebastian Halkes. What a perfect name. And i’d realised after five years of sitting in the friend zone, being mildly comfortable with watching him from a distance, that I, Bella Piercson, had had enough. I’d been single for months, nearly years now and I couldn’t take it any longer. It’s not like i’d struggled through life, melancholy and alone. No, i’d an adequate amount  of male attention and felt confident enough in saying i considered myself more towards ‘experienced’ than to ‘novice’. Especially within my friendship circle.
I’d decided right there and then that I wouldn’t just walk aimlessly through life anymore; I would seek out the things I wanted and grab them, and in this very moment what I wanted more than anything was to be more than anything to Seb.
See I’d known Seb since the beginning of year seven when he was in year nine, and we’d formed a friendship a few months into the school year after group outings and mutual friends. We weren’t best friends, maybe not even close friends but we knew things about each other and we talked from time to time. He made me laugh too much and I found myself completely in awe when he spoke. Not just because he was absolutely gorgeous, but also because I loved the way he perceived life, and how he reacted to it. He was confident and honest, he always seemed to know exactly what was going on. Thats what I liked the most, his air of sureness. Of course I hadn’t been the only one to notice this and my sudden realisation had come from the fact that Seb had been single for over  two months now - or so sources say - and no girl had been in the picture at all; which was unnervingly yet joyfully unusual. This was Sebastian Halkes we were talking about here. And so, at two twenty one I had finally come to the conclusion that I would become Mrs Halkes. Well, maybe not that far, I would definitely become his girlfriend though. It was time to hatch a plan, and what better way to do so than to debrief Kim, my best friend and right hand girl.
“Kim”, I half whispered, half yelled at her. She was a few desks down from me, her head flopped to the side, propped up against her elbow. Her dark hair was hiding her face from view and i wouldn’t even be surprised if she was actually asleep. After I called again a little louder to no avail I wondered if maybe she had dozed off. She always was perfect with timing.

When the bell rung at three twenty signalling the end of the day I rose quickly from my seat, cramming everything into my bag as quickly as possible. Thankfully I reached the classroom door just as Kim was approaching it, I stood directly in front of her and anyone else trying to get out of the room.
“I have the most amazing idea.” I said fast, I could barely contain my excitement.
“Great, can we move ourselves to an area that isn’t in peoples way?” She asked, rolling her eyes and pushing past me. I followed her quickly as she walked out of the science block.
We both pushed the double doors open and she started laughing.
“Okay, lets hear it.”
We walked by the side of each other towards the school gate, everyone else pushed past loudly and rudely especially the younger ones. I couldn’t wait to leave this school.
“I have a proposal, about Seb.”
“Aha!” She practically jumped in the air and turned to face me, her long hair whipped around her shoulders and nearly took out my eye with it.
“I knew it was about him, go on.” We’d both completely stopped moving now and were standing inside the gate of the school, we were most definitely in the way.
I looked at her, she was just as excited as I felt.
“I’ve just had enough of sitting there with all these feelings for him and I think it’s time I let him know and make him feel the same way!”
“Bella this is absolutely the best idea you’ve ever had! It’s about time, I’ve had enough of hearing you mope about your lover.” She winked at me and I stuck my finger up at her.
“Oh my god, get out of the way!”, shouted some boy in the younger year, shoving Kim into me.
She shot him a nasty glare and muttered something about being rude.
“We better walk”, I said and we did.

I opened my car door and waved Kim off.

“Text me” she mouthed while waving back. I definitely would; we had much to discuss.

Clayton Loc

This is an opening to a story I wrote a few weeks ago. I haven't had much inspiration to continue it yet but maybe I'll overcome writers block soon enough. I hope you enjoy...

Clayton was a largish town to the west of the Cotswolds, unlike the places surrounding it with their tranquil cottages and country lanes; Clayton Loc was busy, with high streets and modern flats surrounded by deep overgrown woods from the east to north carrying up the vast mountainous green that went on for miles and right in the middle was the loc, hence the towns name. It was an unusual place to live, a rural settlement with a bustling town nestled in the centre. Apart from that Clayton remained completely normal; no peculiar historical background or weird old man isolated from everyone else with dangerous stories to tell the curious children. The only thing strange was the always closed library, right at the end of the town, just off church road, right on the corner. No one even seemed to know it was there, everyone used the school library if they needed it.

A storm was brewing that night over clayton loc. Everyone could feel it; the humidity in the air, the heaviness of the sky. It was darker than usual, the sun had fled the sky quickly, taking safety with it. All was left was an eerie silence; it really was the calm before the storm.

Midnight came silently and the town was still as motionless, all the lights were out and the streets were bare. To a passerbyer Clayton Loc looked abandoned, a ghost town. Then the clouds rumbled loudly, a deep tremendous groan that slowly and strongly ripped through the calm skies and quiet.
Deep in the woods was a small clearing so untouched and desolate that you would barely know there was an open space. Above the clearing the clouds had been circling ferociously all night like a sea of sharks waiting the perfect moment to strike their prey. The storm carried on slow and heavy. Then it stopped. All the world paused like it was holding its breath, everything was silent again.
A quick rumbling began, slighter than the first but whether it lasted longer was unsure as only a second in, a pure white beam of light tore through the centre of the circling clouds colliding with the forest ground and creating a trembling quake, much louder than the thunder. It lasts a few seconds,so strong it lit up the whole forest and then it was gone. The world breathed out and everything came back to life, there was a calm again but not a pre storm warning anymore, a peaceful sigh of relief, the storm was over and everything was fine. So it seemed.
